CHC-EAB. William Davenport MALTBIE, b. Sept. 21, 1816 (Wm.D.5, David 4, David 3, Jthon.2, Wm.1). m. May 13, 1838, Anna Maria SCHULTS. He d. at Suffern, Rockland Co., N.Y., Apr. 29, 1889. Annie Catharine Maltbie wrote: "The coat-of-arms which William Davenport Maltbie had, was a black shield with bands of gold dividing it, into four parts, and there were numerous stars." (Note. Probably mullets, which re- semble stars. Stars are depicted in heraldry with six waving points). William Davenport Maltbie was a Commission Merchant of N.Y. City.
